Lot 705 Browning Model 1885 .45-70 #01698NW247

Japanese made 'high wall' ('247' serial) single shot falling block rifle made by Miroku, imported by Browning Arms Co, Morgan UT. circa 1994. Featuring a high polish blued finish, 28" octagonal barrel, adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, dovetailed blade front sight, selectable shell deflector behind hammer, exposed hammer with checkered spur, and curved wide serrated gold-toned trigger. The high quality, high gloss fancy urethane finished walnut furniture consists of a smooth straight-grip shoulder stock, schnabel forend with checkering, sling studs in the forend and the bottom of the buttstock, and a solid black Browning checkered rubber recoil pad. Bore is bright with strong rifling. The original blued finish retained is approximately 99% with little remarkable to speak of. The furniture wood is near excellent with mostly light scratches, and a couple of heavier dings on the left side of the buttstock. The metal shows no rust or deformation, and the action is smooth and crisp. This rifle comes topped with a Leupold 3-9x Vari-X II scope with a duplex reticle, and Butler Creek 'flip-up' scope covers. It is mounted via Browning bases and rings. The sight picture is crisp and clear.
Condition is near NRA Excellent.
